Current Work 2015 - Boundaries

Mixed Media Explorations

I've been working on the subject of boundaries in the landscape.  I see hedges, fences, walls, rivers, roads, trees and even the coastline defining one piece of land from another.  This body of work explores the theme, using symbols to represent these elements.

Previous Works

I am an artist based in Fife, inspired by the weather and atmospheric changes in Scotland, my body of work  expresses my love of the great outdoors. Currently, my paintings are using mixed media with acrylic paints.

Although, previous works have often been representational in nature, I have also been exploring an approach that expresses a sense of the elements in a more abstract way.  Less traditional techniques open up the scope of mark-making and paint application that provide a depth reflective of on-site experiences.

I studied art for 9 years, from college in Oxfordshire, onto college in Dundee and then on to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee University gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.  I am indebted to all the wonderful tutors who have helped me and my peers who have inspired and encouraged my efforts.

As an artist, one never stops learning and I continue to strive to challenge myself and improve very time I make a piece of art.

Since graduating in 2006, I have worked in the voluntary sector, while also continuing to paint and exhibit my work.

My art has been purchased by clients worldwide, from New Orleans to Iceland as well as many in the UK.
